ReadHill Publishing CC is an independent publishing house founded by Ingrid Biesheuvel and Simon Nye. ReadHill is a creative enterprise, born in the Mother City, Cape Town on 1 November 2008. Our mission statement is

ReadHill offers clients three basic avenues:

	Publishing, editorial and production services as commissioned by the client.
	Publication under the ReadHill imprint
	Share-publishing: shared costs between us and the author, with royalty percentage reflecting accordingly.

ReadHill strives to meet clients’ varying needs by being willing to negotiate flexibly between these options. In particular, ReadHill strives to empower clients and authors by sharing knowledge and being open and honest.

ReadHill is concerned with sustainability. The majority of mainstream publishing houses generate a staggering amount of waste paper. ReadHill practises green business by following the “Reduce, Re-use, Recycle” concept:

	We rely on electronic sources, minimising the amount of paper needed for printing.
	All paper is used in the production phase is printed on both sides.
	Pages printed on both sides are recycled back into paper products.

Ingrid Biesheuvel Position at ReadHill: Publishing Director

Previous experience
Ingrid worked as an inhouse editor on Foundation Phase and Intermediate Phase for Maskew Miller Longman, one of the top school educational textbook providers in the country. She has further edited and proofread as a freelancer for a range of publishing houses, specialising in educational material. She recently completed a year as a publisher for Pearson Education, commissioning, developing and managing FET manuscripts.

	Ingrid has a keen production eye and has experience in illustration and typesetting.
	Her curious nature supports the research and marketing efforts required of her position.
	She is a BSc (Marine Biology) graduate from the University of Cape Town, and is interested in and capable of engaging in scientific/technological subject matter.

Simon Nye Position at ReadHill: Production Director
Responsibilities/Job description:	Managing Mousehand Managing accounts

Previous experience
Simon freelanced as an editor and reviewer for a range of educational publishers, including International Colleges Group, Heinemann and Pearson Education. Simon also worked with Media24 on a freelance basis.

	Simon holds an ICDL certificate and has Indesign training.
	Simon is very particular and methodical.
	He is a BSc (Biodiversity, Evolutionary Biology and Ecology) graduate from the University of Cape Town, and is interested in and capable of engaging in scientific/technological subject matter.
